
Proverbs is one of the most practical book in the Old Testament and its timeless teaching for everyday living. Proverbs deals with wisdom and folly, pride and humility, justice and vengeance, laziness and work, poverty and wealth, friends and neighbors, love and lust, anger and anxiety, masters and servants, life and death. Proverbs is also a book of poetry, where parallelism is the key interpretive element. The statement of each verse are synonymous, antithetic or synthetic. Of the 375 verse the majority are antithetic.
