
Beginning at the 8th Chapter of I Samuel, Israel went from Era of Theocracy to the Era of Monarchy. The first King being Saul, second King David and the third King Solomon until the division of the Kingdom. King Rehoboan the first King of the Southern Kingdom of Judah for a total of Twenty Kings, one being a Queen and ending with Zedekiah until the carrying away to exile in Babylon.
King Jeroboam the first King of the Northern Kingdom or Israel being also a total of twenty Kings ending with Hoshea. This Kingdom also being carried way in exile by the Assyrians.
This book gives the years or days of each Kings reign. It gives biography background of each King, how they influenced history and the founders of a section of the Dynasties. The prophecies of the prophets are detailed in the history of each King. The Kings of the Empire of Assyria and Babylon are enclosed in this book along with the rulers of Egypt and Syria.
I and II Chronicles give a genealogy or list of names beginning with Adam, Naoh, his descendants, then Abraham, God, Chosen One and lays most stress on the history of the Kingdom of Judah basically the "affairs of the day."
The books of Kings are more than just a annals or a recital of events
as in a chronicle. They report the facts of history with an
explanation of their significance and illustrate the principle
by which God deals with his leaders and people.
